Bluebird was founded in 1972, thanks to an extraordinary woman who became the heart of the ideals that sustain the company to this day. Her name was Mutiara Siti Fatimah Djokosoetono, or as we fondly called her, Bu Djoko.
Bu Djoko was a modest woman who lived a life full of challenges. She founded Bluebird under difficult circumstances. After the passing of her husband, the late Prof. Djokosoetono, SH, she had to find ways to meet daily needs and ensure her children's education. Education was non-negotiable for Bu Djoko. "The greatest wealth in life is knowledge because it cannot be lost or taken away," she often said.
She named the company Bluebird, inspired by the European folktale Bird of Happiness. With her heart and determination, she established Bluebird, supported by her children, who shared her aspiration to build a better life. Her story of resilience and her values continue to inspire us as Bluebird serves the Indonesian nation.
Bu Djoko once said, "Those who face hardship or great challenges are honored individuals entrusted by God to persevere and grow stronger. They are trained to find solutions and overcome difficulties. Such people will fill their lives with relentless effort and possess immense potential for success."
Not every great company can sustain its success over time. Bluebird’s longevity is built on the noble values instilled by Bu Djoko and passed down through generations amidst challenging journeys. These values include caring, integrity, service excellence, and a growth mindset.
“We are more than an ordinary taxi company; we are a taxi fleet that provides exceptional service,” Bu Djoko remarked. “Our professionalism determines whether this company will thrive. The good credibility we build today is our future.”
The taxi business demands a heartfelt touch—a service industry requiring refined skills to deliver excellence. Bu Djoko understood that teaching professionalism grounded in service and responsibility could not be done through words alone. Her leadership embodied the principle of “an iron fist in a velvet glove.”
As a mother, grandmother, and leader, Bu Djoko left behind a legacy of values, knowledge, and experience that has allowed Bluebird to live by the principle of Setiap Kilometer Berarti (Every Kilometer Counts).

Our business was built on the dream of creating memorable journeys for everyone, guided by our purpose of Sharing Happiness in Building the Nation. True to its name, Bluebird—inspired by the European folktale about a girl and a bluebird seeking happiness—has always strived to achieve our aspirations.
As our family grew and education costs increased, the business, which began with just two taxis, miraculously flourished and expanded. Integrity, hard work, discipline, and family values have been the foundation of our achievements. We encourage every individual, regardless of position, to innovate and provide exceptional service to our customers.
Bluebird strives to remain relevant in a constantly changing world by strengthening competencies across all areas of business. We recognize that our success is a blessing from God, and as stewards of this success, we are committed to ensuring that our mobility services align with sustainability efforts, creating a greater impact for Indonesia.
